Tea Time & Pickles

A story.

My handsome boyfriend has a beautiful daughter named Brooklyn who is 4 and loves pickles.

He also has a fun girlfriend who likes New York and the color yellow and artsy towels for the kitchen.

So you see why I was so thrilled when I found this tea towel.

Spring gets me in the mood for a Gin Rickey..

"Who wants to go to town?" demanded Daisy insistently. Gatsby’s eyes floated toward her. "Ah," she cried, "you look so cool."

Their eyes met, and they stared together at each other, alone in space. With an effort she glanced down at the table.

"You always look so cool," she repeated.

She had told him that she loved him, and Tom Buchanan saw. He was astounded. His mouth opened a little, and he looked at Gatsby, and then back at Daisy as if he had just recognized her as some one he knew a long time ago.

Spring Clean!

Hello Lovelies!
I've been busily working and drawing and cleaning this month! I've found plenty of new things to share, like Trader Joe's all natural Fruit Jellies and Essie nail polish's new color called "Secret Story". :)
Today I took a trip to the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. (pics and ravings on the French decorative arts coming soon! ) But... in the gift shop I happened to stumble upon some french milled soap that smells ahhhmazing. Here's my weekly I want that, and guess what? I bought that! ;)
Paddywax Soap- $8
I bought mine in Pomegranate&Currant. It's triple milled with shea butter and olive oil. I can't wait to see how it feels on my skin that I burnt slightly from sitting out near the gardens too long. ;)

Don't Pity the Fool!

April 1st. April Fool's Day. Prank Day.
Upon browsing the many links and sites dedicated to this ridiculous, albeit fun "holiday" (?), I came across this gorgeous painting. (check out the link for info on the artist and interpretation)
The Fool- by Mark Wilkinson
I found this to be an inspiring look at how the traditional "fool" was portrayed symbolically. The fool card of the major arcana symbolizes a journey and a point at which to start over at zero. I think that sounds hopeful. Don't be stupid, but don't let people call you a fool for stepping off that cliff into the unknown.
And take your dog with you.
